Part 2: National Development Ministers, Perm Secs and HDB CEOs

Some disclaimers. All info were sourced and compiled from the Internet. If you spot any inaccuracies, appreciate if you’ll drop me a comment/note.

After my earlier post re: Mystery of the (not?) shrinking HDB flat I suddenly felt curious about the men/women who were behind HDB, and initially thought that all the information should be neatly compiled on some ministry website.  Oddly, compiling the list was an extremely tedious exercise.  No idea why a listing of historical appointments is not available on the gov.sg site.

The list is sorted 2 ways, one based on the appointment, and the other chronically based on this table comparison of HDB flat sizes over the decades:

Chronologically:

There are a lot of criticisms against the current office holders. But I personally don’t expect them to undo years of mistakes overnight.  I will not go into the pricing issue since there are so many articles/posts out there.  But in case you are interested, this one makes for interesting reading btw: Supply and Demand (for Public Housing in Singapore).
