Where to shop for Christmas decorations in Singapore?

UPDATED ON 1 DEC’2012: Added Giant Hypermarket & Francfranc.

I dunno why I didn’t do a post last year since I visited nearly every store, but hey, never too late and it hasn’t changed much (Carrefour is no longer around tho).  I’ve actually been to more places than those listed below (yeah, I know about Daiso, Giant, etc) but I think going to these three will be enough… or you can go the full gamut and go to ALL the stores. :-O

So for your Christmas tree, ornaments, all sorts of decorations, garlands, tinsel, baubles, banners, fake plants like poinsettia, mistletoe, LED lights, table settings, christmas hats, christmas socks, santa suits, christmas wreaths (and even disco balls!)… get them from:

1. IKEA Singapore

I like their stuff, cos I’m not into the ornamented to death type of Christmas decorations. For people who prefer scandinavian/minimalist Christmas decorations, this is the place for you.  Prices are very decent for the basic sets.  Only problem is that stocks tends to run low fairly quickly, as I’d mentioned in my earlier post re: IKEA Christmas decorations.  Oh, and limited colours too. If you like to have say a pink and purple theme, or lime green decorations, you have to visit other places.

IKEA Alexandra: 317 Alexandra Road, Singapore 159965

IKEA Tampines: 60 Tampines North Drive 2, Singapore 528764

Open daily (incl. PH) 10am – 11pm

2. Spotlight Singapore

Quite an extensive and affordable range of Christmas decorations and stocks various DIY supplies for those with crafty hands.

Plaza Singapura Level 5, 68 Orchard Road (Located at the Dhoby Ghaut MRT)

Open daily (incl. PH) 10am – 10pm

3. The Verge, formerly Tekka Mall

Head straight to level 5 where a couple of stores formerly from Blanco Court, and then The Concourse have finally relocated to The Verge (though I still call it Tekka Mall).  There is Ming Sing Flowers, Vanda Win, Daco Marketing… anyway just walk around the floor and have a look at the Christmas trees.  The more popular trees (which seems to be the better quality ones) do tend to run out as well.  By the way, they also sell FULLY DECORATED trees. o_O   I know, very o_O right?  It’s like for the ultimate lazy homeowner (ok, it’s actually meant for for stores/companies…).  There are lots of designs to choose from.

2 Serangoon Road, The Verge(F.K.A. Tekka Mall), Singapore 218227

4. Lim’s Art and Living

Dunno, I just like their wooden stuff.

Holland Village: 211 Holland Avenue, #02-01 Holland Road Shopping Centre, Tel: 6467 1300

VivoCity: 1 Harbourfront Walk#02-154/155, VivoCity, Tel: 6376 9468

City Square Mall #B2-32

Leisure Park Kallang #02-01

5. Giant Hypermarket

Reasonably priced stuff that are not wallet breaking. Easy to pop a few baubles into the cart while groceries shopping (very helpful for hassled parents I guess). Only been to the Vivocity outlet so am not sure if all other outlets have the same selection.

VivoCity: 1 Harbourfront Walk #01-23/B2-23, VivoCity, Tel: 6275 1638

6. Francfranc

I really like their selection of mini Christmas trees. Something a little different from IKEA and the department stores.  You can see more of their Christmas 2012 selection HERE.

Francfranc VivoCity, #02-41/42, 1 HarbourFront Walk

Francfranc JCube, #02-27, Jurong East Central 1

Ok, and the others…

Some I am not recommending cos it’s not that cheap (like those from department stores like Takashimaya, Tangs, Robinsons, though they have really nice stuff), some cos they are a bit out of way and needs some travelling (prices could match department stores so you need to compare: Wan Yuan Arts (typically advertised as ‘Christmas World Fair‘), Yeo GM, Hsen Global/Adamevestyle), some just too assorted to be the primary place to shop at (like Daiso).

Hope you have fun decorating your place for Christmas! 🙂

  1. I’m looking to send my girlfriend a small 3ft-4ft artificial christmas tree. She lives in Singapore and I live in the U.S. I heard it would be easier and cost less if I just have it delivered to her from Singapore. Any advice or tips?

  2. Someone recommend to buy xmas decorations from Mustufa but guess it will be a big hassle to shop from there. Probably Tangs, Robinsons can be a good addition to the list?

  3. Just went the verge as recommended by someone else. ..All not within my budget, my budget is $1-2 an item …now heading to Daiso
