Woot! 1,000,000 views!
It’s a fairly significant milestone, so I did spend a bit of effort thinking about what would make a good post. Finally figured to share some fairly recent pics of my place. Am guessing that more than a few readers (especially those who accompanied me since the start of my reno journey) would be curious about the current look of my place?
Here you go…
Are they in line with what you were expecting? These were taken in August fairly soon after the judges for the President’s Design Award came by for the on-site visit. We did have to tidy up quite a bit for the judging but almost 2 months after our place is still in a fairly decently neat condition. Admittedly these are not the best quality shots cos they were actually taken by my hubby and sent to me via Whatsapp. But yeah still looking fairly decent after two years right? Kitchen is a bit messier to be honest, as are the bedrooms in general, but more on them another day (when all my wall decorations are up!).
As for the title 天天向上 (tian tian xiang shang i.e. literally “reaching for higher every day”), it’s sort of a reminder to me to continue improving (my life in general) and mostly a reference to those 6 cute little figurines that we bought from Hong Kong a few months back. In the dining room pic you can see them on the table. They don’t come in a set of 6, we actually bought 6 separate ‘boys’ so that we can play with the display. The pic below was taken in the Hong Kong store and the figurines do come in larger sizes but we were quite happy with the smallest ones. Right now all 6 are together, but we may start to randomly place them around the house just for fun and to confuse guests. =D
P.S. The figurines are actually taken from a Chinese language comic book but since I
don’t know how to read am too lazy to read Chinese, I won’t try to interpret what the finger pointing means and just enjoy the figurines as they are. 🙂
